What to Bring to Hospital

Your trip to the hospital can be an exciting and chaotic event. Here is a quick checklist of things to pack before you leave home, so you don’t forget any essentials.

For the birthing suite:

  • Your admission booklet
  • Drinks and sugary sweets
  • Reading material, music and DVD player
  • Camera/video recorder
  • Nightwear and socks for after you have given birth

For your room:

  • Nighties/dressing gown
  • Comfortable casual clothing and footwear
  • Toiletries including tissues and sanitary pads
  • Maternity bras and nursing pads
  • Health fund card and Medicare card
  • Money for incidentals
  • Pen and paper
  • Watch or clock

For your baby:

  • Clothes to take your baby home in
  • Nappies
  • Singlets
  • Bunny rug
